INFORMATION:
Informational archive about the Pippa Doll Series produced by Palitoy starting 1972 & in production for several years. Dolls are 6.5 inches tall with rooted hair and eyelashes. Beautiful and detailed faces. The boy dolls have molded hair. Pippa is made from hard plastic, with a twist waist, and her knees have a metal pin for ease of bending. First issue of Pete used Gary's head mold, later being updated with a Palitoy head mold. Dancing Pippa dolls bodies are almost identical in construction to a Dancing Dawn body with vinyl legs & dancing mechanism worked by lifting left arm.

CHARACTERISTICS:
A played with doll with have certain characteristics: The legs & knees will be swingy from sitting the dolls too often; The vinyl will have a grubby look to it from handling. Most of this dirt can be removed; Kids liked to chew the doll's feet and ankles; Vinyl melt marks on the hard plastic torso from dolls laying against one another. Played with dolls will usually be missing hair plugs & eyelashes.
